Services Description

Route 53: A highly available and scalable Domain Name System (DNS) web service that provides three main functions: domain registration, DNS routing, and health checking.

• Public Hosted Zone: This is a container that holds information about how traffic is routed for a domain. It works similar to a DNS zone file. The public hosted zone used for this site routes traffic for abetechsolutions.com to an AWS CloudFront distribution.

ACM: Manages the creation, storage, and renewal of public and private SSL/TLS X.509 certificates. ACM ensures the security of a website and can integrate with a variety of AWS services. Expiring certificates are automatically renewed if they are issued through AWS. Each certificate is valid for 13 months and automatically renew at 11 months.

Amazon CloudFront: This is a web service that speeds up the distribution of static and dynamic web content, such as .html, .css, .js, and image files, to users.

S3: Infinitely scaling encrypted storage. Used by many static websites, such as this one, and can be used to integrate with other AWS services. Supports versioning, replication, and includes several storage classes at varying costs based on data lifecycle policies.

Pro Tips

• On creation, deselect settings for “Block all public access”. This can be updated at any time after creation.
• After creation, update Permissions Bucket policy to allow public read-only access. The policy is written in JSON.
• Ensure the S3 bucket property is configured for Static website hosting.
